Our Aims

Our central aim is to provide musical opportunities for all children and young people in North Tyneside by providing a diverse and inclusive range of high-quality, accessible musical experiences. We achieve this by:

Delivering a wide range of first access experiences in schools and in the community.

Building clear progression routes from the early years to young adulthood by providing access to a range of musical instruments and projects in a range of musical styles and genres.

Creating and building our existing partnerships with other local, regional and national arts and music organisations.

We strive to:

  • Provide a broad, balanced and progressive range of musical opportunities.
  • Be fully inclusive and supportive of all learners, regardless of circumstance.
  • Create projects and activities to ensure the development of high-quality learning.
  • Work with all schools and educational settings in North Tyneside, encouraging all young people, teachers, classroom assistants and parents to engage in and support high-quality music making in all North Tyneside.
  • Meet all aims of the National Plan for Music Education to enable all learners to achieve their personal best.
